Ruff Dimensional Stone manufactures granite products such as curbing, cobblestones, pavers, rubble, veneer strips as well as custom and specialty products. While the majority of these products are produced from our Savannah Gray granite in our manufacturing plant near Elberton, we have access to all domestic and imported granites.
People involved in Ruff Dimensional Stone:
Business partners Brad Ruff, Bill Hood and Michael Baston own and operate Ruff Dimensional Stone, LLC and Savannah Gray Quarry, LLC.
Brad Ruff has worked in the granite industry for over 27 years. He has extensive experience in monument fabrication and setting, and previously served as the production manager for River Edge Granite Company in Elberton, Georgia. Brad is responsible for quality management and production in Ruff Dimensional Stone’s manufacturing plant. He is skilled in heavy equipment, crane, and saw operations, and supervises the employees as he works alongside them. Brad is involved in the fabrication of each order to ensure our granite products are of high quality to meet customer expectations and are delivered in a timely manner.
Bill Hood has a bachelor’s of science in geology from the University of Georgia and 30 years of experience in the granite industry. Bill has worked as a quarry supervisor/geologist in the Elberton, Georgia area, as well as in North and South Carolina. He served as assistant to the executive vice president at the Elberton Granite Association for three years. At Ruff Dimensional Stone, Bill supervises office operations, quotes jobs, manages customer relations, and schedules shipping. Additionally, he coordinates with quarry manager Eddie Smith to ensure that the quarry operates efficiently and that block production meets expectations.
Michael Baston, the founder of Baston Monuments, Inc. in Elberton, Georgia, has managed his successful business for 30 years. He, along with his wife Sarah and sons, Mason and Garrett, run the daily operations of the family business. In addition to producing monuments, Michael is an experienced granite setter and a master stone cutter. Michael continues to manage Baston Monuments while consulting for Ruff Dimensional Stone and Savannah Gray Quarry in daily operations as well as in sales, production and timely delivery of the finished product.
Sam Chandran, a native of Chennai, India, has a bachelor’s of engineering degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from Annamalai University in India. With broad experience in the building stone industry, Sam works in sales and project design, supervises complex production, and does project installation. He worked in the same capacity with Willis Dimension Stone and has many stone industry connections for importing Indian stone.
Lisa Hendrix is a University of Georgia graduate and is our office manager. She worked in a similar capacity with Willis Dimension Stone, prior to joining Ruff, and is knowledgeable about the various aspects of the dimension stone business. Lisa focuses on forging trusting relationships with established and new clients, and solutions-oriented customer care. She manages the office, and assists with sales and coordinating deliveries.
Lisa Hood, is a University of Georgia graduate with over 30 years of experience in management and customer service. Lisa is the former manager of Administrative Operations for the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She is Ruff Dimensional Stone’s company administrator and oversees financial administration, human resources, marketing and promotion, and assists with the daily office duties.
Our team also consists of knowledgeable, experienced, and dedicated employees at the manufacturing plant and the Savannah Gray quarry. These individuals make it possible for Ruff Dimensional Stone to provide quality granite products to meet the diverse needs of our clientele.
